Acidcat CMS commenced development in mid 2004 as a side project by Andy Normand, a developer at Acidcat Multimedia, in Melbourne Australia.

"I started off looking on the web for a simple CMS for my own web site. I couldn't find anything that suited so I decided to write my own.", Andy explains.

"I showed a few friends what I was working on and they all said the same thing, 'The interface sucks', 'I found another bug', 'I want to be able to customize it'."

"But they also said, 'Hey, once your finished, give me a copy'. And so I did."

Since then Acidcat Multimedia have continued to develop and support Acidcat CMS with an eye to providing a simple, free and open source web site solution.

A fee is charged for our Pro version to help pay our developers, but most work is done for free.
